Our Next IFMGA General Assembly Is Taking Place Soon

The General Assembly this year will take place in Slovakia on Friday 25th November and I very much hope that all Member Associations will be able to send their President and Technical Director.

As usual, the GA itself will be preceded by two days of workshops. The Wednesday morning will be devoted to Climate Change and the Future of Mountain Guiding – a most topical and important subject. Other planned workshops include an update and discussion on Mobility (an ongoing, time consuming and difficult issue for us); a review of the No Ski issue; and an insight into how mountain guides can diversify into earning money from rope access.

As usual, there will be opportunities to not only question Board members on what they have been doing in the last year and on what is planned for the next two years, but for you to say what you think the Board should be doing.

One of the stated Aims of the IFMGA is that we are an inclusive and mutually supportive organisation, and the main way we can achieve this is by friendship and the exchange of ideas. So do please make every effort to come to this GA, to see old friends, to make new ones, and to have some good discussions.

Don´t forget to follow us through social media to know more about what will happen during the General Assembly.
